Day 1: Welcome Dinner

After the meet & greet at Blaise Diagne International airport in Dakar, you will be transferred to your hotel. There will be a special Welcome dinner with a chef's presentation. You will meet Mo and be introduced to other members of the group with whom you will spend an exciting week. Post-dinner, you will go on an evening stroll along the corniche, sipping fresh coconut water and enjoying the Atlantic breeze.

Day 2: Dakar Market & Gorée Island

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at Melo restaurant before exploring the vibrant Kermel Market and Sandaga. Here you can immerse yourself in its rich history and local crafts. In the afternoon, take an excursion to Gorée Island for a delicious lunch followed by a historical tour and some beach relaxation, with optional swimming. For dinner, savor traditional grilled meats at the famous Le Mboté. Conclude your day at the excquisite Phare des Mamelles restaurant. Unwind with stunning views of Dakar for an unforgettable evening.

We recommend you to arrive in Dakar by 2pm on 13th November 2024. Your . Checkout date is 18 November. So, please book your outgoing flights for the same day.

Tap/potable water is generally not considered safe for drinking in Senegal. It is recommended for visitors and residents alike to drink bottled water or water that has been properly treated or filtered. Boiling tap water before consumption is also advisable if no other safe water source is available.

French is the official language of Senegal. Many other African languages such as Wolof, Pulaar, Serer are also spoken. Your host will be more than glad to help you in case you need a translator

In Senegal, the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. The type of electrical socket used is Type C (European 2-pin) and Type E (French 2-pin), which are compatible with plugs that have two round pins.

In Senegal, the official currency is the West African CFA franc, abbreviated as XOF (ISO code). 

Some hotels, tourist areas, and larger businesses may accept major foreign currencies like Euros (EUR) or US Dollars (USD). It's generally advisable to exchange your currency to XOF upon arrival in Senegal, either at the airport, banks, or exchange offices

If you have opted for a shared space in a double room, you will be sharing the room with a person who will be participating in the trip. Its a great opportunity to make a new friend. If you are not comfortable sharing the room, you can opt for a private single occupancy room.

  • Dry Season: November to May is the dry season in Dakar, with very little rainfall. This period is characterized by clear skies and low humidity.
  • Ocean Influence: Dakar’s climate is moderated by the Atlantic Ocean, which helps keep temperatures relatively mild and provides a breeze that makes the heat more bearable.
  • Temperature: Average highs around 30°C (86°F) and lows around 17°C (63°F)

Overall, November to January is a pleasant time to visit Dakar, with warm temperatures, abundant sunshine, and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the city and nearby attractions.
