After a huge success in safely completing 1000 miles across the Sumatra region of Indonesia, our next journey is to celebrate the beauty of the Borneo island.
More than 800km journey across Eastern and Central Borneo, our expedition will include approximately 400km of off-road trails, as well as opening new routes that have carefully been mapped by our experts. Get ready to explore some of island’s most unchartered territories.
We'll start off and end our trip from Balikpapan, the richest and most cosmopolitan city in the Borneo Island. We have also handpicked some of the most charming towns to conduct our stopovers along the expeditions. Our itinerary has been designed to include enough time to explore some of the most unique local attractions in each city.
We’ll take you to the Hyperlocal Borneo. For three days, you will immerse in the lives of a local village dubbed as the ‘Freshwater Avatar’ community, we’ll shadow and witness their day-to-day lives, and move around in their traditional boat -which is the local main method of transportation.
Throughout our expeditions, we’ll stop by at some of the biggest highlights of Borneo Island. The equator. The Pesut Fish sanctuary. The Orangutan habitat. In addition to that, we’ll give you some free time to spend on your own in the Kalimantan jungle.
Welcome to the third-largest island in the world and the largest island in Asia, known for its dense rainforests, biodiversity, tropical islands and indigenous culture.
But we’ll take you further to the Hyperlocal Borneo. to deep-dive into the island's unchartered territory and immerse with the local tribes.
For more than 70 years, Land Rover has challenged what's possible, on and off-Road, making it the perfect vehicle to challenge the terrains of Borneo island.

Co-Driver Experience
The ultimate Land Rover driving experience. Sit next to our driver and learn all the off-roading fundamentals. Additionally, you'll get at least drive our Land Rover vehicles for at least 2 hours (or longer, depending on your level) in intermediate terrain, guided by our expert drivers.
A retrack of the world's greatest driving adventure
All activities mentioned in the itinerary is are included. Gears, transportation, expeditions and all excursions. Unless otherwise noted.
Throughout the expedition itself, you will sleep in a private camping tent, reliving the real conditions of the Camel Trophy competitiors.
During the city legs of the expedition, you'll stay at four stars accommodations- where you may choose a private room or a shared room.
All meals mentioned in the itinerary are also included. In total, you’ll get roughly 50 meals: lunches, breakfast and dinners.
Most of the meals will be simple to cook Indonesian meals that can easily be prepared in our campsites. Participants will be allowed to carry their own dry ingredients, such as Granola, milk, and their preferred basics.
Throughout the trips, we will also stop by local markets every two-three days to restock on meals.
We will cater each participant's dietary restrictions.
All transportation and transfers included in the itinerary is included.
Our meeting point is Balikpapan airport. We will provide airport pickup and drop-off (if you arrive on the first day, and leave on the last day).
Before and during the activities, we will provide necessary introductions, safety briefings, and mini- workshops about the track and vehicles.
Additionally, depending on the type of package you have selected (passenger/ navigator/ photographer/ co-drover), we will provide mentoring and hands-on practices that will help you gain unique skillset from the expedition.
We will have a dedicated media team who will be documenting the entire trip. Anytime you want a picture taken, feel free to request it. By the end of the trip, we will share all the content with you.
If you are not comfortable with getting filmed/ photographed, please let us know beforehand.
If you have selected the photographer package, you will be paired with our professional photographer & filmmaker, Tandon, where you will get hands-on photography mentoring, one-on-one coaching, as well as special privileges/ access to the most scenic and jaw-dropping moments of the expeditions.
You are required to have your own travel insurance that covers the entire duration of the trip.
The flight in and out of Balikpapan. We suggest you to arrive on the first day, and depart on the last day of the trip in order for us to arrange the complimentary airport transfers.
We’ve specifically designed enough free time in the trip to give you flexibility to do some of your own activities (in Balikpapan, and in the jungle). Of course, you can ask any of our team for any help in making any arrangement, tips and suggestions.
